Legends Million Dollar Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway (July 14-17, 2010)
Saturday, 17 July 2010 00:00
Will Prance Legends Million Dollar RaceWill qualifies in 19th out of 146 cars and felt really confident with his car. He start the 9th heat race on the outside pole of 14 cars. Will took the early lead for 9 laps, after being passed, Will went for a crossover move that caused him to be on the outside of the third place car. That car pushed him up on the wall on the backstretch causing him to get loose. Will ended up getting hit on the front left putting him out of the race. Will would have one more chance to make the feature race by racing in the 4th B-main starting in the rear of 25 cars. As the cars lined up on the grid the heavy rain began again. Will made a quick change to rain tires even though the rain was being to stop. The track was still very wet and Will needed to finish in the top two in order to advance to the feature. He worked traffic the best he could and stayed out of trouble. Will advanced to 10th position by lap 25, falling short of making it. Will did make the most of his time after the race by going up to the stands with his sponsor Burke Murph, agent for New York Life to sign autographs, have a give-a-way and even an interview. Will Prance Racing can't thank Burke enough for his generosity and the opportunity to race for 250,000. There are more photos of the Legends Million Race on Will's Facebook page.

Change In Our Schedule
Sunday, 02 May 2010 00:00

Will has decided to race the Diamondback 100 on May 22 in Opp, Alabama. He was originally scheduled to race at GMP on May 17.

Monolith 100 at GMP
Saturday, 17 April 2010 00:00

Will Prance Monolith(Jefferson, GA April 17, 2010) - Will finally gets to race the new #33 Ford Fusion at Gresham. Will qualified in 13th out of 18 cars, he settled in nicely on the start and maintained his position. after several cautions Will had moved to 10th, then to the 7th position with 34 laps to go. On yet another restart Will was in the inside in 7th when in the middle of turn 1 and 2 the car in front of Will began to spin leaving nowhere for Will to go. He hit the brakes hard turning himself sideways against the other car. Thinking it was all over a car from the back of the pack came around the turn hitting the rear of Will's car, causing the back portion to rip off. The damage seems to be more cosmetic and Will should be up and running soon. Will finished in 13th position. We want to thank our wonderful crew for all their hard work on and off the track and all the great friends and family for coming out and supporting Will.

Easter Weekend at Lanier National Speedway
Monday, 05 April 2010 00:00

Legend car - Won the first heat race for the Pro division. Started on the pole for the feature and battled with the #82 car for several laps only to have the #4 pass us on the inside for the lead - Finished 2nd. The #55 that I set up also won his heat race and started on the pole but was hit from behind hard - messing up several cars and even causing one car to barrel roll down the track. Everyone was okay but Will will be busy when he returns form New York.

The 34th Rattler 125
Friday, 05 March 2010 00:00

Will Prance Number 33(March 6, 2010 Opp, Alabama) The new car was very hot right off the trailer. Will was second fastest on Fridays practice #2 and clocked some good times on Saturday (15.648). Qualifying rolled around at 4:00 on Saturday and Will would go out 8th out of a 27 car field. His times lap 1- 16.099 and lap 2 - 15.878. On the last lap of qualifying Will's trailing arm broke causing him not to compete in the PLM Rattler 125. It was not a total loss. Will was able to really get a feel for the new Ford Fusion and clock some great times. Next race on the schedule is April 17 at Gresham Motorsports Park in Jefferson, GA.

Will Get's Another Top Ten Finish
Tuesday, 02 February 2010 12:44

Will is ready for that top 5 finish but the car is just not cooperating. Will finished in the 9th position this weekend but was hoping for so much more. The young driver is running for rookie of the year but needs some better finishes to capture that title. He ran well Saturday and maintain his position even though the car was trying to get away for him coming out of the turns. Good job and hopefully he will have more car at the next GAS race.

Brazelton, Ga
Sunday, 31 January 2010 19:00

Brazelton, Ga Jan. 31, 2010
Freezing temps didn't keep Speedfest from happening it just put qualifying off till Sunday morning. Will went out to qualify and finished 9th out of 25 cars. The race started off with several cautions including one on lap 20 that sent Will into the water barrels but he kept going after being sent to the rear only to move back to the front again. Will moved to 7th at one point. At lap 101 the race was stopped for a pit stop. This was Will's first time to have a pit stop but everything went smooth and on time. After a tire change it was off to finish the last 50 laps of the Pro late model race. Will settled in but around lap 125 Will was caught with no where to go when the car in front of him spin sending him once again to the rear but he moved back toward the front again. With 9 laps to go and after yet another caution Kyle Busch and the #19 get sent to the rear. Everyone drove as hard as possible to catch as many cars as possible. Will ended up finishing 9th but after post tech inspections, the driver of the #6 was DQ moving Will to the 8th finishing position. Speedfest was great minus the freezing temps. The next race for Will is the Rattler.

World Crown 300
Thursday, 12 November 2009 19:00

Jefferson, Ga (Nov. 14, 2009) - Will knew after practice on Friday that his car seemed to be losing horsepower and during Saturday's qualifying it proved just that. Will just didn't have enough to get him into the World Crown's top 30. He then had to run in the last chance race for 30 laps with the top 6 cars transferring. Will was set to start in the 8th position but he made a decision to move to the rear. He had a good start and around lap 5 or 6 the car started dropping off again. Will finished 8th putting him out of the World Crown for this year. Will said his car handled great and was happy with the setup, he just didn't have the horsepower. Thank you to everyone for coming out to support Will (especially Uncle Cliff who came all the way from Texas :)

Top Five Finish at the 2009 Legend Nationals
Saturday, 10 October 2009 19:00

The Legend Nationals did not start off very well for Will but the finish was well worth it. On Thursday Will hit the wall along with 3 other drivers after hitting oil that almost sent Will packing but the guys worked hard to get Will back out on Friday for qualifying and heat races. Will was in the first of four heat races and started 6th and went straight for the win. After winning Will was secured a spot in the A-main starting 17th. He even qualified for the Race of Champions (Will was the Georgia State Dirt points Champion) starting in forth on the start, as they came around to take the green the inside car pinned Will on the wall with sparks flying. He kept moving but stayed in the rear to finish 11th.

Saturday night A-main, Will starts in 17th out of 30 cars. The green flag drops and Will settles in but falls back a few positions by lap 12. He came in on lap 15 for an adjustment and started in the rear on the restart. Will worked his way slowly and with 12 laps to go Will had move up to 11th and then 9th and with one lap left, the leaders ended up taking each other out. Will kept moving and crossed the finish line 5th for the Pro Legend Nationals. The Georgia boys brought it home. Kyle Lowery 1st, Justin Swilling 2nd, ? 3rd, Adam Gay 4th and Will Prance rounded out the top 5.

RACEceiver Shootout week 3
Saturday, 03 October 2009 19:00

In preparation for the Legends Nationals Will race the Raceceiver Shootout Saturday night with a good finish. Placing second in the second heat race put him starting fourth out of 15 cars for the feature. Will had a great start and took over third by lap 4. There were several cautions due to spinouts but no wrecks (thank goodness). Will finished in second for the Shootout. Nationals start this Thursday at Lanier National Speedway.

Final Humpy's Heroes Competition
Thursday, 10 September 2009 19:00

Humpy car
This Labor Day Will traveled back to Rockingham, NC for the final competition of the Humpy's Heroes program. After a long summer of being observed at the Summer Shootout, the dirt track and their previous time at the "Little Rock" it was time to announce a winner. Unfortunately, the winner was not Will. We are very proud of all the hard work that Will put into this program from beginning to end. He will continue to work with the Wheeler Company to help prepare him for a career in NASCAR. If you would like to see more pictures please check out Will Prance Racing group on Facebook.

Dirt Track #90
Sunday, 30 August 2009 19:00

East Lincoln Speedway will be the host track for the Dirt Nationals coming up in October but Will had the opportunity to go up this weekend and run the qualifier and his first dirt race. He went out in the heat and started 4th out of 12 cars but quickly took to the dirt. He moved up to second and battled to the end to almost capture the win. After finishing second he started the feature in the third position out of 25 cars. Will fell back to the 7th spot and was trying to maintain his position but in turn three and four he was pushed up the track, causing him to spin but another car on the bottom of the track, hit him. He was able to race for about 6 more laps but did decide to come in, taking 19th for the night. We want to thank the Dirt Track for the use of their car and all the help including Matt Stover for helping Will earlier in the day at Carolina Speedway. Will is looking forward to the Dirt Nationals (Oct. 15,16 and 17th) as well as the Asphalt Nations (Oct. 7,8, and 9th). www.driveondirt.com

Lanier
Saturday, 15 August 2009 19:00

Lanier's car count will be going up in the weeks to follow. Everyone is preparing for the Nationals and they all want to get some time on the track before than. The heat race had a exciting finish as they went 3 wide at the line with Will finishing in the top spot. Will started the main on the outside pole with a really fast car and on lap 12 while trying to pass the #62 of Andrew Smith for the lead, Will was pushed in the turn by the car in third causing his car to spin. Both cars were sent to the rear. Will managed to come back to finish 10th for the feature.

Race #8
Tuesday, 28 July 2009 19:00

Richard Childress with the HH Boys
What a great week we had with the Humpy's Heroes program. Monday started off with Will meeting Humpy and David for a mid-term report on his progress, then it was off to the Carolina Speedway for some dirt. Each driver was given the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a modify once and a late model dirt car twice. They all did a great job and everyone seemed to really like being on dirt. The Dirt Track gets an A+ from us. Thank you to Tim and Shawn at driveondirt.com. Tuesday we started off at Richard Childrss vineyard for a tour and lunch. Next, we traveled over to the RCR garages to check it out. We were able to see the NASCAR and Nationwide garages, the gym, the dirt car garage and we even watched some pit stop practices. They were very welcoming to the group and Richard Childress, himself came out and spoke with the boys. Then, it was off to the track to get race#8 in. Will finished 5th for the heat race but before they could get to the Pro A-main the bad weather rolled in causing them to cancel for the night. Thanks to everyone who organized all of our events - we had a great time!

Race #7
Tuesday, 21 July 2009 19:00

Will spent most of last week figuring out what's been going on with his car. He felt pretty good about the car following the heat race. After a brief rain shower, the Pros went out with Will starting toward the rear. He drove with caution, avoiding wrecks and loose cars. He managed to pick off several cars ending up with a 14th place finish for week 7. Next week Humpy's Heroes will attend Dirt Track Racing school at the Carolina Speedway.
